CenterStage XL features 52 customizable sound buttons. The first 26 come pre-loaded with built-in sounds and icons, while the remaining buttons provide opportunities for users to add personal touches. Every sound button can be modified through the app or alternative customization methods to suit individual preferences. The accelerometer sensitivity for motion-activated play can be adjusted. The three methods of sound playback—tap, timers, and shake-to-play—are designed to operate independently, allowing for versatile audio engagement. While using music sources allows only one track to play at a time, background music will continue even if the app is closed. In contrast, other audio clips can overlap during playback, including while iPod audio is active. The Fade Out button provides an easy way to transition out of audio clips or select mute options through tap-and-hold functionalities.
